NEWARK, NJ - The Iona College baseball team could not withstand a seven-run NJIT second in an 12-6 defeat to the Highlanders in a rain-shortened seven inning affair at Riverfront Stadium.

Joe Torres went 3-for-3 with a walk, a double and a stolen base in the loss. It was the rookie outfielder's team leading 19th stolen base of the season. Junior SS
Eric Capowski was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI to represent the Gaels multi-hit efforts.
The Gaels take on the University of Hartford tomorrow on the road before a MAAC weekend series at Niagara on Saturday and Sunday.
