STATEN ISLAND, NY - The Iona College baseball team dropped a 10-3 decision to Wagner in non-conference action at Richmond County Bank Ballpark this afternoon. Senior 2B Nick Rossetti had three hits including a solo home run in the opening inning for the Gaels.

Rossetti's dinger in the first and RBI double in the third gave Iona an early 2-0 lead. Wagner got on the board with six runs in the bottom of the sixth and tacked on four more in the eighth to earn the win. The Gaels' third run of the game came on an RBI groundout by junior DH James Beck.

Rossetti went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI. Junior 1B Michael Chiaravalloti and sophomore SS Matthew Kriss each recorded two hits in the loss.

Senior RHP Sean Darsee took the loss allowing four runs in 5.2 innings of work.

The Gaels return home this weekend for a three-game MAAC series with Saint Peter's on Saturday and Sunday.
