Chris Burke combined for five of the seven runs, but the Iona College baseball team fell to Stony Brook 12-7 on Wednesday afternoon at Joe Nathan Field.
Beck led the team with three runs batted in while Burke had a team-high three hits and added two RBI. Senior LF

Matthew Kriss also added runs for the Gaels in the contest. The Gaels used the long-ball three times in the contest as Beck, Burke and Lyall all went yard for the Maroon & Gold.
Iona scored twice in the first inning, as Burke hit his third home run of the season and second in consecutive games for the Gaels. His first inning blast scored senior OF

Stony Brook cut the lead to 2-1 after they scored in the bottom of the frame.
The Gaels added another run in the second on a home run by Lyall to lead-off the inning to right field. The Seawolves added another tally in the third and then three more in the fourth to take a 5-3 lead.
Iona tied the contest in the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly to right field by Beck to score sophomore IF
Bobby Vitulano. The next batter-up Kriss grounded out to the shortstop but Burke scored.
The visitors added two more in the seventh on a two-run blast by Beck, scoring Burke who tripled to right field the previous at-bat.
Iona will head down to Lehigh for a four-game set beginning on Saturday with a noon doubleheader.
