CLEARWATER, FL - The Iona College softball team closed out the USF Invitational with a 3-0 shutout loss to North Florida Sunday morning at the Eddie C. Moore Complex.
In Game one, back-to-back RBI singles by Kelly Dill and Chie Someya put UNF up 2-0 in the second inning. In the third inning, an illegal pitch advance Kaley Brosky home and gave UNF the 3-0 advantage. Kaylie Wallace got her 10th win of the season and struck out six in seven innings. Wallace only allowed five hits in the game. Senior
Sarah Jackson took the loss after giving up three runs off four hits in six innings. Jackson also recorded four strikeouts.
The Gaels are back in action Wednesday, when they travel to Ambler, PA to take on Temple in a midweek doubleheader beginning at 2:30 pm.
