Matthew Kriss continued his torrid hitting with two hits and two runs of his own. Kriss extended his hitting streak to 10 games and raised his batting average to .301. In the past four contests he has gone 9-for-15 with five runs scored.

Both teams matched zeroes over the sixth, seventh and eighth innings before the Gaels ninth inning rally.

Thomas Kriss closed out the contest with a 1-2-3 bottom of the ninth to earn his sixth save of the inning. Senior RHP
Conan Leon (1-1) picked up the win, tossing a scoreless eighth inning.
Rutgers' 3B Patrick Kivlehan homered to lead off the fourth inning and drove in another run on a sacrifice fly in the fifth for the home team.
The Gaels complete their season on Friday and Saturday in a three-game MAAC series at Saint Peter's. The start time for both days including the Friday doubleheader is at noon.
