VILLANOVA, PA - The Iona College women's water polo team dropped a close 13-10 match to George Washington University Sunday afternoon in their final game of a three-match weekend at the CWPA/MAAC Crossover Tournament at Villanova University.

The Gaels led twice in the match, and tied the Colonials four times, including a 9-9 score at the end of the third period.   But George Washington outscored Iona 4-1 in the final frame for the win.  Senior Alyssa Turza led the Gaels with four goals.

Iona is back in action next weekend at the Marist Invitational, beginning with a matchup with Hartwick Saturday at 1:00 pm.
