Box Score 2 FAIRFAX, VA- The Iona College baseball dropped a doubleheader at George Mason in non-conference action Sunday afternoon. The Gaels dropped the opener 13-1 and the night cap 5-4.

In game two, Iona got on the board in the opening at bat. An RBI single by senior SS
Matthew Kriss to drive in junior 2B
Bobby Vitulano. The Patriots knotted the score at 1-1 in the bottom of the third and took a two-run lead with a two-spot in the fifth.
Iona battled back with two runs in the top of the seventh. Vitulano's RBI fielder's choice scored rookies
Christian Choman and
Joseph Sessa and knotted the score at 3-3.
In the eighth, a two-out double by senior 1B
Chris Sand plated junior RF
Joe Smith to give the Maroon & Gold a 4-3 advantage.
George Mason answered with two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to earn the win.
Iona scored its four runs on five hits by five different performers. Senior RHP
Matt Marley tossed four innings and allowed three runs on five hits in the no decision. Senior RHP
Derrick Bligh tossed three innings of one hit ball. Senior RHP
Thomas Kriss took the loss.
Iona is back in action next weekend in a four-game series with Lehigh.
