POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - The Iona College baseball team dropped the series finale to Marist 10-1 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at McCann Field. Marist used an eight-run first inning to defeat the Gaels.

The Maroon & Gold scored its lone run in the top of the fourth inning when rookie SS Vinny DeMaria singled to right centerfield to score his classmate Christian Choman.

Choman and senior RHP/DH Matthew Kriss had two hits apiece in the loss, each recording a double. Senior 3B Chris Sand also doubled. Kriss took the loss for the Gaels who used six pitchers in the game.

Marist CF Matt Pagano, RF Jake Berry and 2B Joey Aoila each had three hits for the home team. Rich Vrana earned the win with a six-inning start.

The Gaels have a bye from MAAC play next weekend and will travel to Central Connecticut Friday and Saturday for a two-game series with the Blue Devils.
