NEW BRITAIN, CT - The Iona College baseball team fell to Central Connecticut 14-4 in non-conference action Saturday.

Junior CF Joe Torres and senior 3B/1B Matthew Kriss had two hits apiece in the loss. Torres scored a run and drove in another while Kriss had a run scored and two RBI. Junior LF Jimmy Giuliano drove in the Gaels fourth run.

Central Connecticut had six players with multiple hits and was led by a four-hit effort by CF JP Sportman. First baseman Tyler McIntyre had three RBI to lead the Blue Devils.

Rookie RHP Max Bruckner took the loss tossing a scheduled three innings to start the game. Senior RHPs Matt Marley and Thomas Kirss, freshman LHP Andrew Pucillo, senior RHP Conan Leon and red shirt freshman RHP Scott Glowaczewski also appeared in relief.

CCSU's Nick Neumann earned the win in the seven inning effort.

The Gaels continue non-conference action on the road Wednesday evening at St. John's.
