STONY BROOK, NY – The Iona College softball team dropped a 7-2 non-conference affair to Stony Brook on Thursday afternoon at University Field.
Senior Cari Anderson and freshman Sydney Dimon each recorded an RBI, as Iona staggered five hits with both runs coming in the fourth inning on singles to the outfield.
Freshman Jordan Courage and sophomore Carly Argyle each pitched three complete innings, with Courage obtaining the loss after surrendering four runs on five hits. Argyle allowed three runs on four hits in relief with four strikeouts.
Alexandra Pisciotta led the Seawolves with two RBI as the hosts scored four runs in the second and insurance runs in the fifth and sixth.
Iona will conclude the regular season with a pair of games against MAAC rival St. Peter's on Saturday at noon.
