STONY BROOK, NY - The Iona College baseball team dropped a 4-0 decision at Stony Brook in non-conference action at Joe Nathan Field.

Senior CF Joe Torres, sophomore SS Vinny DeMaria and freshman LF Nick Hogan recorded the Gaels' three hits in the contest.

Stony Brook scored a run in the third and three in the sixth to defeat the Gaels.

Rookie RHP Bill Maier took the loss, pitching 6.0 innings, allowing four runs on seven hits with a walk and a strikeout. Sophomore LHP John Nargoski pitched two hitless innings with a strikeout and two walks in relief.

The Gaels continue midweek action at St. John's tomorrow afternoon.
