WILLIAMSBURG, VA - The Iona College baseball team dropped a 2-0 decision to William & Mary in non-conference action at Plumeri Park.

Sophomores Carmine Palummo and Christian Choman and rookies Chris Russo and Kyle DiVico recorded the Gaels hits. Choman posted his second double of the season. Senior CF Joe Torres drew a walk in the eighth inning and stole his fourth base of year.

Rookie RHP Bill Maier took the loss. He tossed seven strong innings scattering six hits and allowing an unearned run in the defeat. Sophomore RHP Max Bruckner pitched the eighth inning and allowed one baserunner via a walk.

The Tribe scored the only run it needed in the bottom of the first inning and added an insurance run in the fifth.

The Gaels continue action in the South at Campbell on Tuesday and Wednesday.
