NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Iona College baseball team fell to Quinnipiac 6-0 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at City Park.

Junior LF Jimmy Guiliano's fourth inning single through the right side of the infield was the Gaels' lone hit in the loss. The Maroon & Gold had the opportunity to knot the score at 1-1 in the frame but an inning ending double play stranded Guiliano at third base.

The Bobcats added three runs in the fifth and two in the seventh to round out their scoring.

Rookie RHP Bill Maier took the loss. He allowed five earned runs in 6.1 innings of work with four strikeouts. Sophomore RHP Max Bruckner allowed two hits in 2.1 innings in relief.

Bobcat RHP Brandon Shileikis earned the complete game win. DH Vincent Guglietti was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI. His third inning plate appearance led to the Bobcats' first run after he reached on an error.

Iona is back in action Tuesday (Apr. 15) night at 7:00 pm when they travel to Fordham.
