STONY BROOK, NY - Stony Brook defeated the Iona College baseball team 11-2 in non-conference action at Joe Nathan Field. Freshman Jon Budesa went 2-for-4 with an RBI in the defeat.

Senior 1B Jimmy Guiliano went 1-for-4 and scored a run while junior SS Vinny DeMaria recorded Iona's other run scored. Budesa drove home Guiliano with a one-out single in the sixth inning. Guiliano scored from third on a wild pitch with junior C Carmine Palummo at the plate.

Rookie RHP Patrick Ryan took the loss in 1.1 innings of work.

The Gaels home opener originally scheduled for tomorrow vs. Sacred Heart has been postponed due to field conditions at City Park. Iona opens MAAC play Friday when it hosts Canisius in New Rochelle.
