STONY BROOK, NY - The Iona College baseball team fell at Stony Brook 15-4 in non-conference action at Joe Nathan Field.

Rookies Fran Kinsey and Sean Breen had two hits apiece and an RBI for the Gaels. Seniors Carmine Palummo and Vinny DeMaria also drove in runs.

Stony Brook used a seven-run fourth inning to pull away in the win.

Junior RHP Jake Kurz took the loss, tossing the first 1.2 innings. Senior RHP Stephan Stafford pitched a scoreless 1.2 innings in the fifth and sixth and junior RHP Vinny Martin had a clean sheet in the eighth for the Gaels.

The Gaels return home for a three-game MAAC series vs. Fairfield this weekend.
