NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Iona College baseball team fell 15-5 to Niagara in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference series finale to Niagara.

Seniors 3B Matt Byrne and RF Kyle DiVico and sophomore C Joseph Lovecchio each recorded two hits in the loss. Sophomore 1B Lou Matarazzo drove in two runs and freshman PH Garrett Murray collected his first collegiate hit with an RBI triple and a run scored in the Gaels final inning.

Sophomore RHP Patrick Ryan took the loss on the rain soaked contest. Rookie RHP Owen McMenamy closed the game, recording the final five outs. He induced a double play with one out in the bases loaded as DiVico gunned down a runner at the plate following a fly out to right field.

The Gaels are back in action Tuesday at St. John's.
