QUEENS, NY - The Iona College baseball team fell to St. John's 13-3 in non-conference action at Jack Kaiser Stadium. Rookie 2B Sean Breen, sophomore 1B Lou Matarazzo and senior SS Vinny DeMaria each had two hits in the loss.

Matarazzo drove in two runs while DeMaria earned the Gaels' third RBI in the loss. Breen, senior C Carmine Palummo and sophomore PR Joseph Lovecchio each scored a run.

Senior RHP Jake Kurz took the loss as the Gaels starter. Junior LHP Andrew Camiolo and junior RHP Stephan Stafford each tossed scoreless relief in the fifth and seventh innings respectively.

Iona returns to MAAC action on the road this weekend at Monmouth.
