The 2019 Hall of Fame Dinner will include the presentation of a new award, the Pat Quinn '06 Award for Courage. Pat Quinn, who was a standout rugby player at Iona, has courageously battled ALS since 2012, and is credited with co-founding the ice bucket challenge. He will be presented the inaugural award named in his honor.
The event will also include the presentation of the eighth Donald E. Walsh '66 award, presented annually by the Iona College Goal Club to individuals who have demonstrated loyal support and service to Iona College Athletics through exceptional volunteerism. This year's award will be given to Mr. Ron Mohr.
The Iona Hall of Fame Golf Outing and Dinner directly benefits the Iona College Goal Club, which is the fundraising arm for Iona's 21 Division I sports programs. Proceeds received from the Hall of Fame Golf Outing help support scholarships, equipment and other essentials needed to keep Iona College at the forefront of Division I athletics. Participants can elect to direct their contributions to the Goal Club General Athletics Fund, or to a specific team of their choosing.
