NEW ROCHELLE, NY – Three of Iona softball's five weekend games have been canceled due to inclement weather in the tri-state area.
 
Iona and Stony Brook were scheduled to play Friday afternoon; that game has been docked from the calendar due to the rain. The Gaels were also scheduled to face Nor'easter Classic tournament hosts Central Connecticut State University on Saturday and Hartford on Sunday; these games have also been canceled and the tournament calendar has been adjusted.
 
The Maroon & Gold will now face Maine and Boston University on Sunday. The Gaels will play both games on the campus of Central Connecticut State University. Iona will face Maine at 9:00 a.m. and Boston University at 1:00 p.m.
 
Following the conclusion of play at the Nor'easter Classic, the Gaels will return home to New Rochelle and prepare for their home opener vs. Sacred Heart. The two teams will play a doubleheader on March 27 at Donald E. Walsh Field. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
