NEW ROCHELLE, NY - Head coach Lauren Kahn has officially announced the 2022 schedule for the Iona College Lacrosse program. Before the Gaels open the season Iona will be hosting Holy Cross on February 5 for a preseason scrimmage. Iona will open the 2022 season on the road on February 12 at Lasalle.

The Gaels continue the season on the road in Brookville, New York. to take on the first of four Northeast Conference teams LIU. The Maroon & Gold will host their first home game of the new season on February 23 against another NEC opponent, Central Connecticut. Merrimack is the third team from the NEC the Gaels will play. Iona will host the Warriors on February 26th.

The Maroon & Gold return to action four days later on March 2 to play their fourth consecutive opponent from the NEC. Iona will travel to Sacred Heart University, this will start a three game road trip for the Gaels. Staying on the road Iona will stay in the northeast region with a game at Lafayette on March 5.  

After ten days without a game Iona travels to Columbia on March 15 for the final non-conference away game. Before MAAC play begins the Maroon & Gold have one final non-conference game against University of New Hampshire on March 19. The last time Iona and UNH met the Gaels came out on top in a thriller and was Coach Kahn first career win.   

Iona opens up conference play on the road for two consecutive games. First the Gaels will travel to Siena on March 26 and then go visit the Stags of Fairfield on March 30. Fairfield are this years defending MAAC Champs.  

With the calendar turning to April, the Gaels will travel to the Buffalo area on April 2 to battle the Golden Griffs. The first home MAAC for Iona will be on Wednesday April 6 against the Monmouth Hawks. Three days later on Saturday April 9 the Purple Eagles from Niagara come to town looking for revenge from last year's loss to the Gaels.

The Gaels finish with their regular season road games on April 13, traveling to the cross town rivals Manhattan. Iona finishes their regular season with two home games, first on April 20 against Quinnipiac and then a rematch from the 2021 opening round of the MAAC championship on April 23 against the foes from Poughkeepsie, Marist.  

The MAAC Championships are scheduled to begin on Saturday, April 30 and run through Sunday May 8.
