Iona SB/Wagner Canceled; Home Opener Now Set For April 16

NEW ROCHELLE, NY - Iona College softball's home opener against Wagner scheduled for April 13 has been canceled. The Gaels 2022 home opener under first-year head coach Alyssa Tiumalu will be on April 16 against Manhattan.

Following the opening weekend of Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play, Iona sits at 3-1 after a sweep of Monmouth and a pair of extra-inning games at Rider. The Maroon & Gold have not played at home since last season's MAAC Semifinal against the eventual conference champion Manhattan Jaspers.

Iona heads to Sacred Heart tomorrow, April 6 for a non-conference doubleheader at Sacred Heart. The Gaels then play a pair of weekend doubleheaders at Marist (April 9) and Siena (April 10) before returning to Donald E. Walsh Field for the home opener.
