PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Iona University men's rowing team continued the 2023 fall campaign at the Navy Day Regatta in Philadelphia on Sunday morning. The Gaels raced two varsity boats for the Mens Collegiate +4 event, a 16-boat field competing in a 4,000 meter course on the Schuylkill River.

Iona's "A" boat consisted junior Ethan Megal, senior Thomas Koetzner, sophomore Jack Allen and senior Oliver Sanchez and was coxed freshman Johanna Moran. The Maroon & Gold recorded a fifth place finish with a time of 14:16.180. The Gaels finished 49.92 seconds off winning pace set by LaSalle and three seconds back of podium position.

The second boat featured junior Finn Bolger, sophomore Abraham Ocampo, graduate student Sergey Karpov, and sophomore Andrew Catinella, coxed by senior Hayden Skigen finished 11th overall in 15:00.66.

The Gaels travel up to Boston next Sunday (October 21) for the Head of the Charles Regatta.
