Box Score NEW LONDON, CT - Before the Gaels started MAAC play they traveled to New London, CT and took down Connecticut College, 13-4. Both Iona goalies recorded a quarter where they kept the Camels off the board.
The offense was led by
Sadie Sallas scoring four goals on five shots,
Addison Collins netted a hat trick and added three assists for a team high six points.
Maleah Penman &
Lola Trujillo each added two goals. They also combined to assist on three goals.
Kaya Hart,
Remy Ickes, and
Jori Aventurado all found the back of the net once. Trujillo went 4-0 on swim-offs improving her season record to 51-4.
Freshman Zasha Soler got the start, playing the first half, in the 16 minutes she allowed three goals and made 10 saves on 13 shots faced. Lilly Morris played both the third and fourth allowing just one goal and made seven saves, she also added two steals and helped out on the offensive side with one assist.
Iona will start MAAC play this weekend, March 16 & 17, the Gaels will take on LIU & La Salle on Saturday and Villanova on sunday.
