Box Score PRINCETON, NJ - Iona Women's Water Polo fell in a non-conference matchup on the road at Princeton Wednesday night, 14-8. Iona falls to 7-12 on the season. The Gaels offense was led by Lola Trujillo and Sadie Sallas who netted two goals each.
The other four Iona goals came off the hands of
Kaya Hart,
Mia Tovar,
Addison Collins, Iona assisted on five goals. Trujillo went 4-0 on swim-offs once again improving her season record to 62-7. As a team the Gaels fired off 30 shots and drew seven Tiger kick-outs, graduate student Tovar set a team high with three.
In net for the Maroon & Gold
Lilly Morris started and played the first three quarters, she made eight saves and gave up eleven goals. Freshman
Zasha Soler played the final eight minutes making one save and allowing three goals; they combined to face 27 Princeton shots. Iona was kicked out seven times and Trujillo was credited with a team high five steals out of the teams 11 total.
Iona will host their first home games of the season this weekend, the Gaels will be taking on Mount St. Mary's at 9:30 am and Siena at 4:30 pm on Saturday March 23.
