NEW ROCHELLE, NY - Alyssa Tiumalu announced today that she will step down as head softball coach at Iona University for personal reasons.  Tiumalu joined the Gaels staff in 2022.
 
"We would like extend our gratitude to Alyssa for her contributions to the Iona University softball program. While we are sad to see her go, we fully support her decision and wish her nothing but the best in her future endeavors."
 
In three seasons, Tiumalu's Gaels won 62 games including a 34-30 mark in MAAC play.  The Maroon & Gold competed in the conference tournament in all three years and made a championship series appearance in 2023.
 
Iona will commence a national search for a replacement immediately.
