NEW ROCHELLE, NY – Iona University Athletics announced outstanding results from the 2025 Five To Fight campaign, the department's new weeklong fundraising initiative that evolved from the former 12 Days to Fight the Good Fight model. In its first year under the new format, Five To Fight generated record-setting engagement and support for Iona's varsity athletics programs.
Â
The campaign drew 959 donors, the highest single-campaign donor total in Iona Athletics history and an increase of 280 donors from its last effort despite the shift from twelve days to seven. The week produced $181,998 in support of program needs and student-athlete experience enhancements.
Â
Momentum built quickly as Iona surpassed its initial 500-donor goal by Wednesday, reached 750 donors by Thursday and ultimately crossed the 850-donor threshold before the campaign closed.
Â
Supporters activated 11 donor-sponsored matches and challenges, all of which were fulfilled. Major contributions also helped programs surge forward, including $12,000 to baseball and a $30,000 gift to women's lacrosse.
Â
"The first year of our Five To Fight campaign showcased the incredible passion of the Iona community," said Director of Athletics Matt Glovaski. "Nearly 1,000 donors stepped forward in just one week. That level of support reflects a shared commitment to providing our student-athletes with the best possible experience and resources."

Senior Associate AD for Development
Chris Aliano echoed the excitement around the campaign's launch.
Â
"Our alumni, parents, friends and student-athletes rallied behind their teams in a powerful way," Aliano said. "It was inspiring to see the community fully embrace this new version of the campaign and help set a strong foundation for what Five To Fight can become."
Â
Two programs earned top honors in the Adidas competition tied to the campaign. Women's lacrosse collected the most dollars raised with $32,735, while rowing led all programs with 294 donors. Each team will receive $5,000 in promotional gear.
Â
"Fundraising efforts like Five To Fight remain essential to elevating the student-athlete experience," Glovaski said. "We look forward to building on this momentum throughout the rest of the fiscal year."
