NEW ROCHELLE, NY – Iona University men's basketball graduate student Toby Harris was named MAAC Player of the Week after a standout performance in Iona's road victory at America East favorite Vermont.
 
Harris delivered a season-best and NCAA Division I career-high 26 points in just 28 minutes off the bench, leading the Gaels to one of their most impressive wins of the season. The sharpshooter was highly efficient, shooting 7-of-10 from the field, a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line, and 2-of-3 from three-point range.
 
Known as one of the MAAC's most dangerous perimeter threats through the season's first two months, Harris showed his versatility by doing much of his damage in the paint and at the stripe. He scored 21 of his 26 points in the second half, including 14 straight points that helped erase a 10-point deficit after halftime. Harris' back-to-back baskets in the final five minutes gave Iona a lead it would not relinquish.
 
Harris also pulled down four rebounds, providing a steady veteran presence throughout the decisive stretch of the game.
 
The honor marks the first career Player of the Week award for Harris and the third weekly honor of the season for Iona. Graduate student CJ Anthony previously earned the distinction on November 10 and November 24.
 
Following the Christmas holiday, Iona resumes MAAC play when it travels to Mount St. Mary's on Dec. 29 for a 7 p.m. tipoff and a rematch of the 2025 MAAC Championship game.
