Box Score NEW LONDON, CT - The Iona water polo program traveled to Conn College for a mid day game against the Camels, after close to two weeks with out a game the Gaels score 18Â goals, as they earned a commanding 18-5 win.
Junior
Lola Trujillo and
Sadie Sallas, combined for eight of the teams 17 goals,
Lea Preston,
Vanessa McNabb, and
Alyson DePalma each score two goals, and
Kaitlyn Williams,
Olivia Weissman, and
Addison Collins each found the back of the net once in the fourth quarter. Iona only allowed one goal in the first three quarters.
In net the Gaels split time with
Lilly Morris and
Ella Dean, Morris made 15 saves with one steal and one helper on the offensive side. Dean made five saves and added one steal.The Gaels won three of four swim offs and set a season low with only three kick-outs drawn, no Gael had more than one. On offense they drew seven Camels exclusions.Â
Gaels are back in action on Mar. 15 as they open conference play against Wagner and La Salle. Those games are hosted by VMI in Lexington, VA.Â
