NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Iona University men's lacrosse team took on Merrimack in their penultimate home stand of the 2025 season on Saturday.

The visitors opened the scoring in the third minute of play, but Iona responded with a
Max Monzo tally with an assist from
Jack Martinez. Through the second quarter, however, the Warriors scored scored 10 unanswered. With two responses from Iona from
Kolbe Curtin and
Jack Martinez, and a handful of goals from Merrimack later, the two sides headed into halftime with Iona down a score of 15-3.
Merrimack were the only side to net a goal in the third quarter, going 2-2 in man-up opportunities in the stanza and 4-5 in the game. A three-goal Iona effort in the final quarter saw

- Cole Barnes counted a game-high six ground balls while going 8-19 from the faceoff X.
- Kaiden Lewis co-led all players on field with three caused turnovers while picking up two ground balls.
- Alex Colavecchio scored his first point in Maroon & Gold with an assist in the fourth quarter to Matthew Dyszkiewicz.Â
