NEW ROCHELLE, NY  - Iona University Director of Athletics Matthew Glovaski announced Carla Campagna has stepped down as head coach of the Gaels' softball program for personal reasons.
 
"We thank Carla for her leadership and commitment to our student-athletes during her time at Iona," Glovaski said. "She guided the program to a solid season and a MAAC Championship appearance in her first year. We wish her well moving forward."
 
In her lone season at the helm, Campagna led the Gaels to a 29-21 overall record, including an 18-8 mark in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play. Under her direction, Iona reached the MAAC Championship tournament and posted the program's highest win total in 13 years.
 
A national search for Iona's next head softball coach will begin immediately.
