NEW ROCHELLE, NY - Iona University junior
Duncan Robinson was named the MAAC Men's Indoor Track Runner of the Week following his performance at the Dr. Sander Scorcher, hosted by Columbia University at the Armory Track & Field Center.
Â
Robinson won the mile run invitational with a time of 3:58.24, becoming the ninth runner in program history to break four minutes indoors. His mark ranks as the fourth-fastest indoor mile in Iona history, trailing only Richard Kiplagat (2006),
Matt Rankin (2023), and Liam Dee (2017).
Â
The performance lowered Robinson's previous personal best of 4:02.67, set at last season's MAAC Championships, and currently stands as the fastest mile time in the MAAC this season. Robinson led a strong Iona showing in the event, as the Gaels posted the four fastest mile performances in the conference at the meet.
