COLUMBIA, MO - Competing on the national stage for the 28th time in program history, the Iona University men's cross country team capped its 2025 season at the NCAA Championship at the Gans Creek XC Course in Columbia, Missouri, hosted by the University of Missouri. Racing in the 10k championship and entering as one of just two unranked teams in the 32-team field, the Gaels placed 32nd overall, led by junior
Duncan Robinson's 90th place finish.
IONA PERFORMERS
Seven Gaels took on the 10k course, with the top five contributing to Iona's team score. Robinson led the way by placing 90th overall in 29:32.0, capping a strong postseason in which he emerged as Iona's front-runner. Sophomore
Bradley Giblin, fresh off an All-Region performance at the Northeast Championship, followed as the team's second scorer in 152nd place.
Junior
Aiden Coles crossed next in 205th, while senior
Matt Rankin, competing in his third and final NCAA Cross Country Championship, finished 211th to score for the Gaels in his final collegiate cross country race. Sophomore
Conan Harper rounded out the scoring five in 223rd in his national championship debut.

Baptiste Cartieaux (232nd) and senior
Ben MacMillan (253rd) completed the lineup, with both closing out their seasons on the sport's biggest stage.
THE RACE FIELD
New Mexico's Habtom Samuel claimed the individual national championship with a late surge to win in 28:33.9. Wake Forest junior Rocky Hansen took second, followed by Washington State sophomore Solomon Kipchoge in third. Oklahoma State's duo of Brian Musau and Fouad Messaoudi finished fourth and fifth, respectively, fueling the Cowboys' push toward the team title.
TEAM SCORES
Oklahoma State captured the 2025 NCAA team championship with 57 points, edging New Mexico (82) and Iowa State (158). Syracuse (212) and Oregon (239) rounded out the top five.
Iona placed 32nd with 728 points in its return to the national meet.
