CAMBRIDGE, MA – Iona University men's outdoor track junior Tristan Coles competed at the Battle Road Track Club Twilight Meet on Saturday evening at Morrison Track on the campus of MIT in Cambridge, MA. The event served as a final opportunity to qualify for the 2026 NCAA East Preliminary Rounds in Lexington, KY, with Coles placing second among 52 entrants in the Eric Ryan Memorial Men's Mile.
 

1500-METER RUN

Coles crossed the line in 4:02.08 in the Eric Ryan Memorial Men's Mile, a performance that translates to a 3:44.14 effort over 1,500 meters. The mark was just one-tenth of a second shy of his season-best time recorded at Princeton two weeks ago and eight-tenths off his personal best. Entering the weekend, Coles' season-best 3:44.04 ranked 127th in the NCAA East Region standings as he looked to secure a place in the NCAA East First Rounds later this month.
