PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Iona University men's rowing team entered three boats across the Men's Championship 4+ and Men's Club Championship 8+ events at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta on Saturday, October 24, at Fairmount Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Gaels recorded a top-20 finish in the Championship 4+ and competed against deep fields in both events.
 

MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP 4+

Iona placed 20th and 27th among 33 entries in the Men's Championship 4+. The Gaels' first entry crossed the finish line in 14:00.84, while the second entry recorded a time of 14:51.72.
 
Penn claimed the top two spots, with its first boat winning in 12:12.858 and its second boat finishing in 12:18.936. Riverfront Recapture placed third in 12:33.180, narrowly ahead of La Salle, which finished fourth in 12:34.129.
 
Iona's 20th-place boat featured sophomore Andrew Yates as coxswain, freshman Weston Hewit in the bow seat, junior John Karounos in the second seat, sophomore Ethan Pond in the third seat and senior Alejandro Maya in the stroke seat.
 
The Gaels' 27th-place entry featured sophomore Hugh Mathieson as coxswain, senior Nick Pagliuca in the bow seat, sophomore Tristan Hargrove in the second seat, graduate student William Bogenrief in the third seat and Mathieson in the stroke seat.
 

MEN'S CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP 8+

The Gaels finished 31st among 34 entries in the Men's Club Championship 8+, recording a time of 13:21.83.
 
Drexel won the event in 10:56.245, followed by Penn in 10:59.629. Fairmount Rowing Association rounded out the top three in 11:16.272, with La Salle finishing fourth in 11:18.431.
 
Iona's lineup featured sophomore Hugh Mathieson as coxswain, sophomore Hayden Cohen in the bow seat, sophomore Nick Bouffard in the second seat, sophomore Christopher Hall in the third seat, junior Jonah Cone in the fourth seat, freshman Jake Levari in the fifth seat, senior Nick Pagliuca in the sixth seat, sophomore Tristan Hargrove in the seventh seat and graduate student William Bogenrief in the stroke seat.
