ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Iona University men's lacrosse team fell 17-7 at Navy in non-conference action at Memorial Stadium. Freshman
Carson Turissini paced the offense with two goals and an assist, while five other players added tallies for the visitors.
THE RUNDOWN
Iona matched Navy early, responding to two opening goals by the Midshipmen with strikes of its own. Sophomore

Franco Caputo found the back of the net to even the score at 2-2 with 9:06 remaining in the first quarter.

The hosts answered with three goals in a two-minute span, but the Maroon & Gold pushed back again late in the frame. Freshman
Luke Neary scored with 4:33 left before Turissini netted his first of the afternoon with 12 seconds remaining to keep the contest within reach after one.

Navy seized control with nine unanswered goals across the second and third quarters, then added another to open the fourth to put the game out of reach.
IONA PERFORMERS
- Turissini added his second goal with 1:06 left in the fourth to close the scoring.
- Kennedy, Neary, Caputo, freshman David Caldwell II, and classmate Cale Stielau each chipped in a goal.
- Sophomore Denny Piekutowski made 12 saves in goal.
- Sophomore Noah Perea played the final 11:05 and recorded four stops.
THE OPPONENT
- Alec Gregorek led Navy with four goals.
- Aydan DiRocco followed with three tallies.
- Mac Haley and Nick Golini each finished with three points for the Midshipmen.
TEAM STATS
- Navy held a 51-21 edge in shots, including a 33-13 advantage on goal.
- The Midshipmen also won 25 of 27 faceoffs.
