Dylan Riccio closed out his collegiate diving career representing Iona University at the 2026 NCAA Division I Zone A Diving Championships, held March 9 at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
Competing among many of the top divers from Division I programs across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, Riccio performed a six-dive list in the men's 3-meter springboard event in what marked the final meet of his career with the Iona Gaels.
Riccio opened the competition with a Forward 2½ Somersault Pike (105B), earning 33.60 points with a degree of difficulty of 2.40. He followed with a Forward 3½ Somersault Tuck (107C), scoring 26.60 points.
In the middle rounds, Riccio performed a Back 2½ Somersault Tuck (205C) for 12.60 points, before rebounding with a Reverse 2½ Somersault Tuck (305C) that earned 29.40 points.
He continued his list with an Inward 2½ Somersault Tuck (405C) for 24.30 points, and closed his competition with a strong Back 1½ Somersault with 1½ Twists (5233D), scoring 32.40 points.
Riccio finished the event with a total score of 158.90 points on the 3-meter springboard.
Qualifying for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships represents one of the highest achievements in collegiate diving, as the meet serves as the final step toward the NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Championships. Riccio's appearance at the meet capped a dedicated career with the Gaels, highlighted by his commitment, work ethic, and contributions to the Iona diving program.
His performance at the Naval Academy marked the conclusion of his time competing for Iona, closing a chapter of collegiate athletics defined by perseverance and passion for the sport.

The NCAA Division I Zone Diving Championships serve as regional qualifying meets for the NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Championships. Zone A includes universities from the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions and was hosted in 2026 by the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
