THE RUNDOWN
Trailing 3-1 after the opening quarter, the Gaels responded with three unanswered goals in the second to take a 4-3 lead with 6:19 remaining before halftime. Lawry opened his scoring in the first quarter, and Neary delivered a natural hat trick with tallies at 12:59 and 9:48 before netting the go-ahead goal just over six minutes into the second.
Bryant answered late in the half, tying the game at 3:59 before taking a 5-4 lead with four seconds left before the break. Those goals sparked a 13-0 run that spanned into the second half and ultimately put the game out of reach.
Freshman
Carson Turissini halted the run with 7:31 remaining in regulation, and Lawry added his second goal in the final two minutes, finishing a feed from classmate
Jake Riglietti.
IONA PERFORMERS
- Neary recorded his first collegiate hat trick with a three-goal performance, marking his fifth multi-goal game of the season.
- Lawry added two goals, posting his seventh multi-goal effort and 10th game this year with at least two points across 15 contests.
- Turissini found the back of the net to extend his scoring streak to six games, matching his longest stretch of the season from the start of the 2026 campaign.
- Noah Perea turned in a strong effort in goal with 14 saves on the afternoon.
THE OPPONENT
- Zac Amend paced the Bryant attack with five goals and one assist.
- Caden Lennon contributed three goals, while Kyle Fedorcha and seven additional Bulldogs each added a goal in a balanced offensive showing.
- James Carr made 14 saves in net to earn the win for the home side.
UP NEXT
The Gaels return to action next Saturday at home when they host Quinnipiac in the penultimate game of the regular season and the final contest at Mazzella Field. Face-off is set for 2 p.m.
