NEW ROCHELLE, NY – The Iona University men's lacrosse team dropped a 19-7 decision to Quinnipiac in its final home contest of the 2026 campaign at Mazzella Field. Sophomore

Carson Turissini each recorded two points to pace the Maroon & Gold.
THE RUNDOWN
The sides traded goals across the opening four scores, with Hall and Turissini each finding the back of the net in the first six minutes of action. Quinnipiac responded with a three-goal run to close the opening quarter and carried that momentum for the remainder of the contest.
Sophomore
Cooper Metz halted the stretch with his second tally of the season at the 12:40 mark of the second quarter. The Bobcats answered with a pair to extend their advantage to 7-3 with just under 10 minutes remaining in the half. Turissini struck again midway through the frame to pull within three, but the visitors added two more before sophomore
Cullen Lawry netted his team-leading 23rd goal of the season to close first-half scoring.
Quinnipiac extended its lead after the break, outscoring the home side 5-1 in both the third and fourth quarters. Hall recorded his second goal of the afternoon with 2:04 left in the third, and freshman
Luke Neary added a late score in the final minute to round out the scoring.
IONA PERFORMERS
- Hall and Turissini each delivered two-goal efforts, with Hall securing his fourth multi-point outing in seven appearances this season.
- Turissini notched his sixth game with multiple goals and his 11th multi-point performance.
- Kennedy dished out two assists, marking his 10th multi-point game of the season and 17th of his career.
- Metz contributed across the field with a goal, six ground balls, and two caused turnovers, finishing one ground ball shy of both his career high and the program record.
- Kaiden Lewis added two caused turnovers on the defensive end.
- Goalkeeper Noah Perea turned aside 18 shots in a busy effort between the pipes.
THE OPPONENT
- Cole Marsala powered the Quinnipiac attack with three goals and five assists.
- Duncan Zielke and Nate Watson each totaled six points, with Zielke scoring four times and Watson adding three goals.
- Max Pauwels controlled possession with nine ground balls and 13 faceoff wins.
- Luca Cutolo recorded three caused turnovers to anchor the defensive effort.
- Evan Miner made nine saves to secure the victory.

Iona travels to Sacred Heart on Wednesday, April 23 for its final contest of the 2026 campaign. Opening faceoff is set for 3 p.m. on ESPN+.
