NEW ROCHELLE, NY – The Iona University acrobatics & tumbling team clinched its second consecutive appearance in the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) National Championships. The Gaels were announced as the sixth seed for the second straight season.
The championship is hosted by Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California and will take place April 23-26 at the Felix Events Center. The eight-team, single-elimination tournament will begin on Thursday, April 23 with four quarterfinal matchups. The semifinals are set for Friday evening, while the National Championship meet will be held on Saturday evening at 5 p.m. National event finals are scheduled for Sunday morning at 10 a.m. to close out the championship weekend.
Iona posted a 3-3 record in the 2026 regular season and squared off against four teams in the top five of the championship field. The Gaels earned road win over fifth-ranked Augustana back on March 18. The Gaels will square off against Quinnipiac in a rematch of the 2025 Championship quarterfinal. The Bobcats took the opening quarterfinal a season ago, 263.545-255.875.
