NEW YORK, NY - The Iona University men's outdoor track and field team competed Friday at the 2026 Metropolitan Championships at Icahn Stadium, turning in a pair of event titles and several personal-best performances in New York City.
4 X 100-METER RELAY
The quartet of freshman
Joshua Aceto, senior
Jiles Addison, freshman
Jaylen Mozone and junior
Cameron Washington raced to a first-place finish in the 4x100-meter relay in 42.03. The Gael relay squad topped FDU by .15 seconds in the eight-team field.
TRIPLE JUMP
Senior
Jiles Addison claimed an event title in the triple jump, winning the competition with a leap of 14.32 meters. Addison out jumped nine other competitors and topped FDU's Jashad Kersey by nearly eight inches.
1500-METER RUN
Sophomore
Caudell Cajuste led the Maroon & Gold in the 1500-meter run, placing third in 4:03.25. The time marked a personal best and was more than nine seconds faster than his performance at the 2025 MAAC Championships.
Junior
Christian Audrin matched Cajuste's time of 4:03.25 to finish fourth overall. Sophomore
Jack Novelli placed 14th in 4:09.09, while freshman
Julian Laznik-Moraghan finished 20th in 4:18.75.
200-METER DASH
Freshman
Jaylen Mozone placed third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.91 in his first outdoor race at the distance. Mozone bettered his top indoor mark by more than half a second.
Junior
Cameron Washington added a 10th-place finish in 22.56. Freshman
James Roche finished 18th in 22.93, junior
Derrick Touba was 23rd in 23.05 and junior
Edmund Lok placed 33rd in 23.84.
100-METER DASH
Sophomore
Dylan Donegan turned in a fourth-place finish in the 100-meter dash finals in 10.85, while junior
Cameron Washington was seventh in 11.12. Donegan's mark was a personal best and .09 seconds faster than his time at the 2025 MAAC Championships.
Washington advanced to the finals after running 10.99 in the preliminary round, while Donegan posted an 11.02 prelim time.
Freshman
Joe Surozenski, junior
Derrick Touba and junior
Edmund Lok also competed in the preliminary round.
4 X 400-METER RELAY
In the 4x400-meter relay, sophomores
Dylan Donegan and
Jack Bretthauer joined junior
Evan Gralitzer and freshman
Alex Hannon for a sixth-place finish in 3:29.25.
400-METER HURDLES
Freshman
Joe Surozenski made his outdoor debut in the 400-meter hurdles and placed eighth in 1:00.21. Freshman
Wesner Archelus followed in 10th with a time of 1:04.38.
