Lang Garners His Third Rookie of the Week Honor

EDISON, NJ — Freshman Luke Lang was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon. This marks his third Rookie of the Week honor.

Lang played a pivotal role in the Gaels securing a 9-1 win over the weekend against Siena to split the Friday double header. He pitched 8.0 innings, allowing one run on six hits. Lang struck out six batters in his start. The performance earned him his fifth win of the season.

Lang has appeared in 11 contests with seven starts. This start has helped him lower his ERA to a 3.42. In 47.1 innings pitched, he has 46 strikeouts.

Iona continues its season on Thursday as Manhattan comes into town for the final series of the regular season.
