Luke Lang Garners His Second Rookie of the Week Honor

EDISON, NJ — Freshman Luke Lang was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon. This marks his second Rookie of the Week honor.

Lang played a pivotal role in the Gaels securing a 4-2 win over the weekend against Canisius. He pitched 6.0 innings, allowing two runs on four hits. Lang struck out eight batters in his start, his second-highest total this season. The performance earned him his fourth win of the season.

Lang has appeared in ten contests with six starts. He has held opponents to a .257 batting average while posting a 3.89 ERA. He has also struck out 40 batters on the season.

Iona continues its season tomorrow on the road at Yale. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
