NEW ROCHELLE, NY- Iona University freshman Lauren DeLaurentiis has been named the recipient of the Intercollegiate Women's Soccer Organization for Coaches (IWSOC) Goal of the Week for Week 2 of the NCAA women's soccer season, the organization announced today.

DeLaurentiis, a Fairfield, Connecticut native, earned the national accolade with a highlight-reel finish that doubled as her first career collegiate goal during Iona's 4-0 shutout victory against Delaware State. Connecting on a cross into the 18-yard box, the rookie adjusted mid-air to unleash a Zlatan-esque, roundhouse-style volley past the keeper.

The IWSOC Weekly National Awards recognize top individual performances across three categories: Goal of the Week, Save of the Week, and National Player of the Week. Award recipients are selected through a combined process featuring a panel of NCAA women's soccer head coaches alongside fan voting. Founded in 2025, the IWSOC serves as the official nonprofit organization representing women's college soccer coaches nationwide. Operating in collaboration with United Soccer Coaches, the organization works to provide structural support, expand exposure, and safeguard the autonomy of women's college soccer.
