EMMITSBURG, MD - The Iona University men's soccer team fell to Mount St. Mary's, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon at Waldron Family Stadium. The Gaels move to 2-4-2 overall and 1-1 in Metro Conference play.
THE RUNDOWN
Mount St. Mary's opened the scoring on a set piece header off a free kick in the 25th minute. Iona looked for the equalizer in the 39th minute as a shot from sophomore Ricardo Vivo Calderon hit the crossbar. Iona continued to push the tempo out of the halftime break as senior Jaime Roman Jr. and Vivo Calderon both fired attempts on goal in the first 15 minutes of action. Momentum changed in the 65th minute after a red card was issued to Iona on a challenge just outside the 18-yard box. The hosts would take advantage of the man advantage, scoring three more times in the 71st, 72nd and 74th minutes to take the Metro Conference matchup.

- Roman Jr. and Vivo Calderon each recorded two shots, with one on goal apiece.
- Freshman goalkeeper Adriano Sofio made one save in 90 minutes.

- Mount St. Mary's held an 11-7 advantage in shots and a 5-2 edge in shots on goal.
- The Mountaineers earned five corner kicks to Iona's three.
