RESULTS 
Stony Brook, NY - The Iona College swimming and diving teams came off a successful
weekend to face Stony Brook and St. Francis (NY) in a duel meet at
Stony Brook.  The men's and women's teams raced very well placing in
the top three of 22 of the 23 events it participated in.  The men's
team fell to Seawolves 35-76 but downed the Terriers 88-15.  On the
women's side, the Gaels couldn't keep up with the Seawolves 40-70 but
sunk the Terriers 80-20. 
Senior Jason Felix
was a double-winner for the Maroon & Gold as he touched the wall
first in the 100-Breaststroke with a time of 1:05.08 and 100-Fly at
54.28. His time in the breaststroke was just 0.75 ticks ahead of his
teammate junior Karim Mabrouk.  Senior William Walsh touched the wall 55.92 for Iona in the 100-Fly.  
Senior
Kerby Lewis grabbed the top spot in the 200-IM with a time of 2:12.94
and sophomore Megan McNeely touched the wall at 2:28.44. Freshmen
Christine Larkin and Maggie Wood also had great days taking the
500-Free and 100-Backstroke respectively. Freshman Sarah Walker and
sophomore Cassie Nassivera lead a 1-2 Gaels finish in the
100-Breaststroke with just a 5.02 second gap between their times. 
Iona
also took the top spots in the men's and women's 200 relays. The Gaels
are off from competition until the calendar turns to 2008 as they will
have a home mini-camp and then travel down to Florida for a training
trip and meet yet to be determined.
