Old Westbury, NY- The Iona College baseball team could not overcome a 5-0 deficit after three innings in a 13-3 loss to New York Tech in non-conference action at President's Field.
The Gaels (1-16) cut the deficit to 5-2 with two runs in the fifth inning. Freshman 3B

The Bears (5-4) regained its five run lead in the bottom of the sixth inning with two more tallies. They would add six runs in the bottom of the eighth to round out their scoring.
Sevilla came through again in the top of the ninth, singling home Griffin for Iona's final run.
Sevilla had his first collegiate multi-hit and multi-RBI effort going 2-for-4 with all three Iona RBI in the contest. Griffin also had two hits in the effort, the first time he has recorded multiple hits in a game as well.

Justin Karn (0-2) took the loss allowing six hits in three innings. Only one of the five runs he surrendered were earned.
The Gaels return to MAAC action this weekend when they travel to Buffalo, NY to take on Canisius.
