Loudonville, NY - The Iona College baseball team dropped a doubleheader to Siena in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at Siena Field. The Gaels fell 5-1 in the opener and 10-5 in the night cap.
Five different players recorded hits in the opener. Sophomore 3B
Mike Walraven drove in the Gaels lone run with his first collegiate home run down the left field line in the sixth inning.

Shane Sveda took the loss, allowing three runs and six hits in seven innings while striking out seven.
In game two, the Gaels trailed 2-0 after the first inning. The Maroon & Gold scored four runs in the third to take the lead. Freshman DH
Greg Zambrella drove in the first run with a double to right field. Three batters later, junior SS
Joe Lorenzo plated Zambrella with a run scoring single. Sophomore LF
Andrew Passerelle followed up Lorenzo with his third home run of the season.
The lead was short lived as Siena recorded seven runs in the bottom of the inning to take the lead for good. Sophomore RF
Chris Leahy tallied his first collegiate home run in the fourth inning to round out the Gaels scoring.

Bobby DiNuzzo took the loss.
The two teams complete the three-game series tomorrow afternoon at 12:00 pm.
