PISCATAWAY, NJ - The Iona College baseball team dropped a 14-2 decision to Rutgers in non-conference action at Baintion Field. Freshman DH Dean Dignelli knocked in both Gael runs and junior RHP John Kassebaum allowed just two runs over the final six innings in the loss.

Dignelli got the Maroon & Gold on the scoreboard with his team leading seventh home run of the season. The tally came with two outs in the fourth. The rookie's second RBI came on a base hit in the sixth that scored classmate RF Colin Lyall from second base.

Kassebaum came on in relief with none out in the third inning. Rookie RHP James Beck (0-2) took the loss.

The Gaels continue action away from home this weekend with a three-game MAAC series at Niagara University on Saturday (Apr. 18) and Sunday (Apr. 19).
