PISCATAWAY, NJ - Senior forward
Kristina Ford led the Gaels with 11 points and eight rebounds as the Iona College women's basketball team fell 62-29 to No. 11 Rutgers Sunday afternoon at the Rutgers Athletic Center.
The Gaels were unable to get their offense going in the contest, tallying season lows in both field goals (seven) and field goal percentage (16.7%). However, a strong defensive showing from the Gaels allowed them to stay close through most of the contest. However, the Scarlet Knights outscored Iona 36-7 from that point on, with Iona scoring their final field goal on a three-pointer from Ford with 8:08 remaining in the contest.
