SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic — Iona University women's basketball sophomore Johanna Flores represented her home country of Mexico at the 2026 Central American & Caribbean Games from July 25-August 2 in Santo Domingo. Flores helped Mexico's U20 National Team capture the silver medal at the 25th edition of the games.

Flores appeared in four games during the tournament, averaging 3.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 3.0 steals per game. Her 3.0 steals per contest ranked fifth among all players in the tournament and second on the Mexican squad.

Mexico opened the competition with a perfect 3-0 record in pool play, defeating El Salvador (62-46), host Dominican Republic (73-46) and Trinidad and Tobago (85-25) to advance to the semifinals. In the semifinal victory over Panama, Flores contributed four points, two assists and a game-high six steals as Mexico earned a 59-56 victory to secure a spot in the gold medal game. She followed with six points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals in the championship contest as Mexico finished the tournament with the silver medal after falling to Puerto Rico.

After earning the silver medal, Flores returns to New Rochelle for her second season with the Maroon & Gold in 2026-27.
